Presentation Instructions

 

LENGTH OF A PRESENTATION

A presentation lasts for the maximum of 15 min,
which includes also presentation setup time (possible lap top connecting and booting, presentation startup, etc.), questions and discussion.

Presentations in Sessions 15 and 19 may last for 20 min (including setup, questions and discussion), in order for the sessions to finish at the same time as the concurrent sessions.

 

PRESENTATION EQUIPMENT

Available equipment:

  • PC and projector
    Windows XP
    Adobe Acrobat Reader
    PowerPoint
    .avi player (inc. DiVX and xvid codecs)
    OpenOffice (inc. Impress)
    CD
    DVD
    support for USB memory stick
    Internet connection
  • possibility to connect your own lap top
  • overhead projector

It is highly recommendable to have slides for the overhead projector available, at least as a final backup.

It is recommendable to use the supplied PCs, in order to avoid spending time on connecting lap tops.

You are encouraged to transfer the presentations to the presentation PCs well in advance during the breaks. Please, note that only CD, DVD and USB memory stick are supported.

Please, do not rely on the Internet connection as your only source of presentation, but a copy of the presentation on the Internet makes a good backup.

Please, DO NOT use rewritable CDs (CD-RW), or DO NOT leave the CD open. Try to keep the CDs as widely readable as possible.
